PHP / Cornerstone Conflict

I updated PHP to 7.4 at the recommendation of Wordpress. The site crashes. X theme and Cornerstone are up to date.

Hello @peedub,

I tried to access FTP but the given FTP login is not working on my end. Please recheck and send us again. Regarding the conflict, it might be the issue of plugin conflict or version compatibility issue, I would suggest you please make sure your theme, plugins, WordPress core, and the PHP version is updated as per our version compatibility page.

I would also suggest you troubleshoot a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing for Plugin Conflict
  2. CSS/JS Customization
  3. Version Compatibility
  4. Disabling Cache
  5. Child Theme

If none of those work, It would be best if you could copy your live website to your staging area. and send your details in a secure note so that we can investigate your setting without breaking your live site. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • Correct FTP details

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts

Thanks

Hey @peedub,

The FTP credential is still not working, please double check and update them with the correct ones.

Thank you.

Hello @peedub,

I tried to access the file through the FTP but it is not working on my end. Please recheck and send us again, you must share the WordPress login details as well.

Thanks

I contacted Hostgator and there is some issue with the server not being able to be contacted by FTP. They have escalated it to a higher level. I still am unable to get the site to work with Cornerstone activated.

Hi @peedub,

To further investigation, we required the FTP to work. Please let us know once it is ready to access.

Thanks

Will do…thanks for your patience.

Hey @peedub,

Great! We’re looking forward to the right FTP access so that we can check and troubleshoot your website.

Thank you.

I worked with the support team at Hostgator and found that our php memory was set too low. Increasing it to 256MB solved the issues we were having.

Hello @peedub,

Glad that you were able to fix it by yourself. Please feel free to open a new thread if you have any more concerns.

Thanks
