Thanks for reaching out.

As long as Wordpress is compatible then the theme should work. The theme only uses the resources provided by Wordpress running on top of it. But I fully recommend doing the upgrade and testing to a test server since even Wordpress could fail depending on the configuration changes regardless of PHP version.
