Personify - Save a section

Hey! I just started playing around with Personify on a dev site. I knew it would alter the site and settings as it had said that in the getting starting. I played around a bit and then saved a section on a page to a template. I named it so I could find it easily. Went into my library and downloaded that section template.

Then I went to another dev site to test importing that template for the section. (I use templates across my sites a lot)

When I did this, it imported into the other dev site, but it imported like 15 pages and all kinds of content. All from that one single little section template that I had made. After all of that, it did not ‘leave’ a template in the library either. (nothing with the same name I used)

—> Is this what should’ve happened?? Or is this a bug?

Trying to see how personify could work into my flow and would like to know. Like another thought is say I am working on a dev site with The Magnate. I get a section just like I want it and then want to use it that specific part that way on other sites. Am I not going to be able to move it via a template like I usually would do? To save time? I like to do that and then continue customizing on that new site.

It is seeming like it is an “All or Nothing” situation, short of adding everything and deleting what you do not need. Hoping that is not the case.

There is currently a bug when exporting a template, where it exports the entire site instead of just the template you are trying to export. I believe this is what you are experiencing here. We are releasing a fix on Monday.

If you’re creating a new section that you want to use in multiple places, I would encourage you to create a new component that uses the other Personify components like in #Scaffolding. You should still be able to create a section template or element template using Personify component as well. It also sounds like you are referring to the same issue in my first paragraph. So your workflow creating a new site will be unchanged when the bug fix is released. Your template data is fine, it’s just the downloading of those templates that is messed up.
