Password Protecting Posts Issue

Hi, I have created ‘project pages’ using Pro and ACF.

I am trying to password protect these pages but this function does not seem to work. I am not knowledgeable about the code or CSS hence why Pro works so well for me. As far as i can get information about this is due to the theme.

I go to WP and password protect the post…

However when i go to that page what I see is

The writing there in green is the post title. So all it has done is add the word ‘Protected’ in front of the post title.

This happens in all browsers, not just the one I am not logged into the WP account in.

If anyone is able to shed any light please I would be very grateful as i really need to PW these posts.

Many thanks in advance
Duncan

Hey Duncan,

Thanks for writing in! You will have to create a custom Single layout that displays the page title and the content. You will then assign this layout for all password-protected pages and post items.

The “Protected:” in the page or post title indicates that the page has a password. To get rid of it is to remove the password.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ruenel,

Many thanks for your reply.

I have done as you recomended, thanks I did not know that was in there.

I assume I am then to password protect the post in WP.

Sorry to say however I still can not get it to work. If it is helpful the post example I am showing can be found at https://karasolar.co.uk/project/mccains-foods-scarborough-yo11-3bs/

Thanks again, I am sure this is a user related issue so apologies for being a pain.

Cheers for now
Duncan

just for an additional update…

I tried

just in case, but unfortunately still the same.

Hi @FluidDigitalMedia,

If the condition is not working correctly, we need to investigate it through the WordPress admin dashboard. I would suggest please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Many thanks. secure note attached

Apologies for the confusion earlier. If your condition for Post Password is set to is not required, that means the password has been accepted and is no longer required or the post has no password. Your password required projects should be displaying the password form correctly now. Have a great day.
