Pagination and how it works in Pro with Envira Gallery

How does Pagination work in Pro with the Envira Gallery? I set it up and cloned the first Graphic Design page. Am I supposed to link it to the first page? I have selected the 25 images per page option before it goes to the second page but it’s not doing that. It goes back up to the start of the gallery.

I have 3 more images on page 2 and since I cloned page 2, the pagination will be the same…25 images per page. I thought it would create the page automatically but it does not. I guess I have to link the Graphic Design page 1 to the second page? How does the pagination work? Thanks in advance!

Hello Grace,

Thanks for writing to us.

Envira Gallery allows you to add pagination to your galleries and albums but it requires Pagination Addon to add multi-page image galleries in WordPress. In case if you have installed the Envira Gallery plugin from our bundled plugin then it is not possible since it is a premium feature of Envira Gallery. You need to purchase a separate license from the Envira Gallery from the plugin author to get the pagination feature. In case if you have already purchased the separate license from the plugin author then you can install the Pagination Addon. Please have a look at the doc to learn more about how to set pagination.

Hope it helps
Thanks

Hi Prakash. I have an Envira Gallery License for Plus and the Pagination is Active. So why isn’t it working?

Hello Grace,

I have investigated further and I can confirm that the pagination is not working. This could be a bug in the Pagination Addon which I am not sure of. Since you have an Envira Gallery License for Plus, it is best that you contact the creators of the plugin. They may a solution to this issue.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks ruenel. Should I just make it simple and just use the Pro columns? Then I won’t have these issues!?

Hi Grace,

If you just want to display image items, you can use the Pro column elements. You might also be interested in the Grid element and insert image elements in each of the cells. If ever you might want to have an image lightbox which we do not have at the moment, you can make use of the modal element instead because there is an option of the modal element toggle that you can use an image graphic as the toggle and just display the bigger image resolution in the modal element contents.

Hope this helps.

Do you have some documentation on the grid element? It just seems that Envira gallery has issues with pagination and I have the Plus. You’d think that they would have solved this issue by now.

If I use the Grid element, then what should I use for pagination? Do you have any documentation on this too?

It just seems that plugins often have issues so I would rather minimize these issues by using what I can in Pro but I can keep the Envira Gallery just in case I change my mind and get rid of the code on the page correct? Then I can set up the grid right on the page right?

Hello Grace,

You can get to know with the Grid element in tis documentation:

We also have videos tutorials here:

If you use the Grid element, you will still not have pagination. Here is what I understand though, you are trying to display a gallery of images in a grid item format. You also want to limit the number of grid items per page which would be needing to have pagination. The Grid element the best solution for what you are wanting to do.

As an alternative for the Envira Gallery plugin, you may be interested in the Essential Grid or The Grid plugin. These plugins are also capable of having to display images in a grid format as well as the pagination feature.

Let me know what you think.

Yes you are correct. I have The Grid plugin already installed. With Essential Grid, I used it for my front page. But I have to pay for support every 6 months and that can be costly. So that’s why I limited it to the first page.

First you say that the Grid element won’t have pagination and then you say:

> As an alternative for the Envira Gallery plugin, you may be interested in the Essential Grid or The Grid plugin. These plugins are also capable of having to display images in a grid format as well as the pagination feature.

So which is it? Does the Grid have pagination or not? I am confused and need clarification. Thanks.

Hello Grace,

You can use the Essential grid as many times as you want. You have purchased a separate plugin license code. With the support that you have paid with them, you should utilize their plugin as much as you need for your site.

I understand that you got confused. I am talking about two different things, a plugin, and an element.
1.) The Grid element in which pagination is not possible for your setup.

2.) The “TheGrid” plugin which the one alternative that has a pagination feature. Sorry, my bad, I forgot to add the link.

Hope this helps.

Thanks ruenel. Ya that was confusing. So essentially, I can use the Pro columns and download TheGrid plugin for the pagination. Is this all that this plugin does or do I have to use this grid to get the pagination as part of the deal?
Isn’t this the plugin that comes with Pro?

I took a look at Essential Grid and it looks as if I should be using this plugin. I can put the buttons at the bottom. I will do an experiment and get back to this thread.

I tried setting up a new grid with The Grid and I got a blank page. Plus, it only says I can use posts. Well I need to link to pages not posts. What about NextGen Gallery? Will this work with Pro?

I find that Envira Gallery is the easiest to use. I just wish the pagination would work!

Hello Grace,

You can use TheGrid plugin to display the grid item of gallery images with a pagination feature. And yes, the Essential grid is also worth a try. Some users are using that to display grid item images with pagination as well.

When using the TheGrid plugin, you will have to select “Post Type” for the Source Type and then select “Media Gallery” as the post type. You can then add images by selecting the images from your media gallery.

Linking the grid item images to a page may not be possible though. For NextGen Gallery, there are X and Pro users that use that plugin also. I could not say much about it because I do not have the first experience with the plugin. In my own opinion, the Essential grid would do the job for you while the pagination of the Envira Gallery is not working for the moment.

Regards.

Actually reunel I figured it out! I found this link and it works for Envira Gallery. I am so happy. I can link the Envira Gallery to a page URL. That’s why I want to use it.

I just copied the CSS and changed the colors of the buttons. Done! The settings were not correct so that’s why the buttons didn’t work. This link set me straight on what to select.

I also did a test and put the images back to 300x300px for image dimensions for the writing section. There wasn’t much of a difference so instead of 350x350 I will leave it at 300x300px.

Hello Grace,

I am also glad that you have now resolved your pagination issue with the Envira Gallery. If there is anything else we can help you with just create another thread and we would be happy to assist you in any way we can.

Cheers.

Thank you reunel! I wanted to share the link with others to make it easier for them. It’s time consuming looking for answers but while I waited to hear from the Envira Gallery, I did my own research and found this link.

Hi Grace,

Glad that you are able to find the solution on your own and thanks for sharing it with others.
