Pages display fine when shown live but are scrambled in the Pro editor

We have some complex pages developed in Pro. We are having trouble with a number of the pages but for the sake of this topic let’s just assume it is a single page.

The page was working fine but recently (after an upgrade of Wordpress???) the page no longer loads properly in the Pro editor. However, it we make changes to the page and Save it, the changes show up in the live page correctly (!). Sadly, the page is still broken in the editor.

The live page is here: https://mockup.fundrazr.com/pages/home/nonprofits/

A screen shot of the broken image in the editor is here: https://mockup.fundrazr.com/pages/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2017-12-29_0-41-03.png

A screen shot of the relevant area of the live page is here: https://mockup.fundrazr.com/pages/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2017-12-29_0-40-33.png

It appears that the page loads fine until it encounters an Essential Grid element.

We have an account setup if you want to log in and look at the page live in the editor. We can exchange login information under separate cover.

Is this a bug?

Hi,

Please provide following information in Secure Note(key icon) so we can take a closer look.

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

All the best!

Hi Paul,

I’ve added the login info as secure note. I’ll have to find the FTP info but hopefully you can proceed without it for now.

Thx.

Hello There,

Thanks for providing the information. I was able to logged in and found a few errors. There was a CORS issue and a JS error. I managed to resolve CORS issue by installing WP Migrate DB and use the search and replace feature of the plugin to search for http://mockup.fundrazr.com/wp-content/uploads/ and replace it with https://mockup.fundrazr.com/wp-content/uploads/. The JS error is coming from this JS code which is invalid.

function SlideSelect(slider,slide) {
  // console.log("slider = " + slider + " slider = " + slide);
  jQuery(slider).layerSlider(slide);
  // console.log("finished");
  return 0;

I managed to resolve it by adding the correct code.

And also I noticed that you inserted the essential shortcode within the Content Area element. Please make use of the Classic Essential Grid instead.

We would loved to know if this has work for you. Thank you.

Thanks for your help with this. Replacing all the Content Area elements with Classic Essential Grids solved the problems.

You might be interested to see the error that Chrome recorded when the page failed but is no longer occurring:

You’re welcome!
Thanks for letting us know that it has worked for you.
