Page Titles in Ethos

Did i miss something, or is it correct that there is no page title in the ethos stack?

I found this in the support forum:
https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/missing-page-titles/23641

But this does not explain why the page title still appears in the icon-stack but not in ethos, even if i use a custom header.
It also is not there in renew and integrity stack.

It took me half a month and at least a dozen posts to find a workaround for this with the support team. If you continue searching the forum you will find multiple threads from me and if you follow them all you will likely find the solution you seek. Or, for your convenience, take a look at this one: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/shop-and-blog-page-titles/26324. I just finally got it all working properly today. I advised them that multiple people would likely want this capability (which should be so simple) in the future.

Thanks for your advice, but isn’t your problem rely especialy for the shop and blog page title?
I need it for every normal page.

Oh, and i have to correct myself, the page title still exist if integrity stack is active. So it’s just missing in ethos and renew.

Hi There,

Normal pages won’t show a title if it was set to use any of the Blank - template regardless of the stack. If you need the pages to show a title, use any of the Layout - templates instead…

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

If it was so easy i wouldn’t bother you guys :smirk:

I tried both, default template and the layout (standard for all pages on this website is “default template”). But no title at all.

Hi There,

Oh sorry about that, I did actually tested it on each stack but did not anticipate that you’re using a Custom Header.

Ok, so on the Renew and Ethos stack the title is part of the x-landmark which is a part of the standard header. So if you don’t use the standard header you don’t get the x-landmark, therefore, the page doesn’t get the title. Unlike in Integrity and Icon stack, the title is part of the content, so it doesn’t matter if you have a custom or standard header the title will be there (unless you use a Blank - template for your page)

For now, we don’t have the x-landmark for the custom header, but this is a big part of the future of the Pro builders, to have a dynamic element where it outputs data base on the post/page.

What I can advise you now is to add a page title to your page manually, you can use the Headline element or much simpler the Classic Custom Headline element.

Hope this shed some lights,
Cheers!

Ok, that is something new and good to know.

I don’t know the technical reasons why you handle this different in the stack’s. But for a customer point of view, it should be related to the page and content, because you already have the settings on the page (alternate page title, disable page title). But this is only my opinion.

Thx for enlightenment!

(And by the way, i like the new Custom Header in pro :sunglasses:)

Hi There,

Thank you for your feedback.

As an alternative solution, you may try following this post (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/category-and-archive-header-landmark/16068/2?u=mldarshana).

Thanks!
