Page template attribute missing

The page template attribute is suddenly missing on my site. We tried activating the parent x theme and then reactivating the child theme. No luck in fixing the issue. Please help.

Please try checking on the Screen Options and make sure that Page Attributes is enabled.

Let us know how it goes.

I´m using the Pro child-theme and the “Page Attributes” is showing up, but there is no “Page Templates” Box.

Hi Guys,

I see similar issues too but can’t verify if it’s a bug, somewhat, the child theme is not connected to parent theme and Wordpress is pulling the list of page templates from the child theme instead of the parent theme.

I see this issue from when WP 4.9 became available, could you try downgrading your Wordpress back to 4.8? Or please try that on a staging site just to confirm it. I can’t do this in my installation since it works just fine.

I did an update to Wordpress 4.9.1 and now it works again.

Thanks for letting us know that you have updated WordPress core and the issue was resolved. This was a bug (https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/42573) in WordPress 4.9.0 by the way.
