Page previews disappear in pro builder when making specific changes

Hello,

When I’m editing pages in the pro builder, sometimes the preview or portions of the preview will disappear when I make specific changes. I then have to hit save, then reload the page to get the full preview of what I’m working on back. This makes working a lot slower. I’ve noticed that it tends to happen when I’m editing text blocks and changing the font to “body copy” or changing the weight of that font. I attached two screen shots showing what the preview looks like before adjustments and what it looks like after adjustments.

No clue if this is related or not, but in the past I was having issues saving my work in the pro builder and contacted you for help. You had me contact my hosting company (WPX) and adjust some settings with them - possibly the php version. I don’t know if this is related to that or a separate problem that could be coming up after installing multiple templates with different fonts from design cloud.

Any help in ironing this out would be appreciated, login info attached in a secure note.

Thanks!
Dave

Hello dave,

Thanks for writing in!

You seem to forgot to send the URL of your site as well. Anyways, can you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:
- Pro theme 3.1.2 or
- X theme 7.1.2
- Cornerstone 4.1.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi @RueNel,

Apologies for not putting the URL - it’s davidgaiz.com, and everything is up to date on the site.

Hey Dave,

This issue is happening because the no Font Weight was set for the Body Copy in the Font Manager.

Other fonts work because at least 1 Font Weight was selected.

Please review your font setups and activate a font weight for each font in the Font Manager.

Hope that helps.

Hi @christian_y,

Thanks for the help! I’ll give it a shot and see if it fixes it!

Thanks,
Dave

Hi @christian_y,

I assigned a weight for the body copy in the font manager but it didn’t fix the problem. Also, it typically wasn’t the preview for the body font that would disappear when I would adjust it, it would be the previews for everything else on the page that would disappear.

After I tried making these changes I encountered the issue again. For example, on my homepage, in the section titled “Photo Trips” I went in and adjusted the width and max width settings for the text box. When I did that, all of the previews in the builder disappeared.

What should I try next?

Thanks,
Dave

Hello Dave,

The Body Copy and Headings seems corrupted. I would highly recommend that you create a new font name with the same settings as Body Copy or Headings and then apply it to your text or headline element. This is much easier and faster than going back and fort with this corrupted fonts.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi @RueNel,

Can you give me a little more detail on what you mean by creating a new font name with the same settings as body copy or headings? I’m not sure I follow or know where or how to do this.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

Please go to FONT MANAGER. Create a new instance with the same settings with the BODY COPY and HEADINGS
Then use this new instance on your element instead of that existing BODY COPY and HEADINGS.

Also, if possible, please remove the font that is not in use that is added on that FONT MANAGER. That is too many request for font and it will take time to load all of those. Also try to increase your PHP TIME LIMIT.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Lely,

That seems to have worked, I haven’t had the chance to test it much, but on the first quick test it seems like that fixed the issue.

Thanks,
Dave

Glad to hear that Dave, please remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Thanks,
