Page load hiding sidebar

Hello-

On this page, as the archive loads the sidebar doesn’t load until the archive is fully loaded. Is there a way to stop this from happening so that the sidebar is always visible?

Thank you

Hey There,

By nature a browser is loading content based on the positioning of the code. The Archive gets loaded before the Sidebar as the loop for loading it is ranked higher in priority. There is no easy way to change this as you would need to change core template files and overall changing the position is not recommended. It’s best practise that the content loads before the sidebar. Hope that helps!

Makes sense- i don’t want to alter any core files. Is there a way the list of links can load like a regular page though? When that page loads the content seems to drip in- is this an effect that can be turned off?

Here’s another page for example, that just loads all at once:

But this page- which technically is only words and should be even ligther to load- takes so long:

Hi There,

Because your full archive page is loading a lot of posts. The sidebar will appear after the posts finish loading.

In this case, you can try with this plugin to display a loading screen instead: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loading-page/.
