Page content has disappeared?

The page content has disappeared on http://stunlight.info/technology/rlt-inside/. We don’t know what might have caused the entire page to disappear. The only change made recently was to put in a new background.
What caused the problem and can it be recovered?

Thanks for writing in!

The page content disappeared because approximately 2 hours ago, you may have accidentally edited the page using Pro editor. Please be advised that as soon as you edit the page in the Pro editor, any existing page contents will be discarded and this is the case that might have happened to your page.

I went to the revisions and there are already 34 revisions to the content I reverted it back to the previous state so that the page contents will display again. To get familiar with the revision feature of WordPress, please check this out:

First, thank you. Is that recovery something we can do on this end?

Second, we now recall that one person was changing the background page. A second person tried to access Pro Edit for that page and got the message that that page was being edited. He ask the first person if he could take over . He took over and at that time the content must have vanished. Is there a know problem with gaining access to edit a page if the other editor has not logged out or moved on to edit some other page without saving changes?

Hi Loren,

Yes, you could do that but may still fail. It would only work on content outside the builder (Wordpress editor).

And yes, that could be it since it’s Wordpress functionality, it doesn’t track any changes you’re doing and would simply switch it to another where other changes are made, overwriting it. I recommend saving the work before handing it to another user, and reload the page once handed to you to make sure the change is there before you edit it.

The contents of http://stunlight.info/technology/rlt-inside/ has disappeared again.

This time I tried to edit the site and got a notice that my associate was on that page editing. In fact he was not. I had him exit everything and the site still said it was being edited. I chose to override and that must have been when the contents disappeared again. Can you restored the contents please.

Second is there a fix to this problem or a work around?

Hi Loren,

Please consider that you either need to use the Pro Editor or the Gutenberg (WordPress Default Editor). There is no workaround for that as the system of the Pro editor is different than the WordPress default.

Please go to the page in question and at the right section click the revisions:

Then Drag the Slider handle to the left to find the version that was ok, and hit the Restore button.:

Please consider that the revision is a default WordPress feature and is not related to our theme or product.
