It seems that there might be an issue of plugin conflict or cache issue. I would suggest you troubleshoot with a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing For Theme Related Issue
  2. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  3. Theme Update
  4. Child Theme
  5. Css/Js Customization
  6. Increasing Php Memory Limit
  7. Disabling Cache
  8. Disabling Cdn
  9. Permalinks
  10. Version Compatibility

If none of those work, It would be best if you could copying your live website to your staging area. and send your details in a secure note so that we can investigate your setting without breaking your live site. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • FTP Details

Thank you for responding to my post. Here are the steps I have tried so far:

  1. the issue is not on the front end but I changed to a new theme and then back to pro
    themeco. The issue did not go away.
  2. I removed all non-themeco plugins then emptied the plugins trash. Logged out and back
    in. The issue did not go away.
  3. Pro theme is the latest version
  4. child theme exists but not the active theme.
  5. I have no CSS or Js customization
  6. I tried to check the Php memory limit but filezilla would not edit the wp-config.php file
  7. Cache has been cleared and disabled
  8. Cdn?
  9. Permalinks set as advised
    10 Version Compatibility ?
    None of these alternations have resolved my problem.

Hello Andy,

This is what I am seeing when I check your Pro > Layouts > Home Layout (Single).

See the secure note.

Are you trying to use this layout when you edit the homepage? Be advised the layouts created with Pro > Layouts can be used as a layout for the singular pages or archive pages. If you want to specifically create a custom page layout for the homepage, you will have to create/edit it in Pro > Content.

When I go into the content of my home page after creating the layout I get the message,
"The content is not being output by the current layout. "
Therefore I can not
edit the content.

Problem is fixed. :layout was not properly assigned to the home page.
