An outline is appearing around the links of my website when you click them.
Hey @nvanhoose,
When I clicked links in your site, I don’t see an outline.
An outline will only appear if you use keyboard navigation and it is very important to have an outline because you won’t know where you are if there’s none. That is why we don’t have an option to remove the outline. If you wish to remove the outline (not recommended), we can provide you a custom code in our One premium support.
Thanks.
for me the outline appears whenever i click a link. There is also an extra < showing on the logging page. Its a blank menu item before the main menu. The extra menu item only appears at ohiotimberworks.com/logging
******* i updated the live version of the site with the newest x theme and it is broken ********
Ive asked simple questions. how would u transitiom an x site to 2022 standards? I wish I hadnt paid for extra help bc as of now, hostgator is helping meway more thsn yall. Forget my ftp details please.
Hey @nvanhoose,
After updating the X theme (9.1.4), you need to also update the Cornerstone plugin to 6.1.4
. You can install it by going to X > Validation page and there should be a notice on top that it needs to be installed.
Best Regards.
Is there any reason I would not keep running the site on the version 4 software? I reverted back to a working version of X theme however when I tried to install it myself it would generate an error. A critical error.
Hello @nvanhoose,
You can keep using the older version. It will still work. The problem is that out dated WordPress, theme or plugins may be vulnerable to malicious scripts or will have some conflict with other softwares in your site server. There are also new features and technologies in the latest versions that you might need for your site. Before updating to the latest version, please make sure that your server has all the necessary requirements to run the latest. Check this out:
And we highly recommend that you create a staging area. You need to clone your current site running 4.0 to a staging area. You can then do the updates in the staging area. If there are any issues and conflict, we can simply do the testing and troubleshooting within the staging area without affecting your live site. If this is your first creating a staging site, please check this out:
Best Regards.
Hey @nvanhoose,
I’ve checked your staging area and it is showing a 403 forbidden issue. You may check this documentation on how you can fix it.
Hope that helps.
