Optimal video format

Dear Themeco,

I need to upload 7 videos on my site. What is the optimal video format for the X-Theme and Conerstone? What do I have to take care of, so that my page does not load too long?

Best regards Patrick

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

It’s always recommended to use MP4 video (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC) which of course the size should be enough to the target device you wish to display it. Self-hosted videos could be slow especially if your site is not for streaming, you may want to host it outside your site to divide the traffic. Or simply use Youtube videos as it has the ability to adapt to device requirement for much faster loading instead of loading the original and big video.

Thanks!
