Open Social Media Apps on Mobile

Hi there,

I’ve been doing some searching on social deeplinking, etc… just seeing if there are any support questions that have been asked and answered on this…

I have a client that would rather have the social media icons that show up on his site when in mobile to open up the social native app rather than go the webpage. (Example, the Facebook icon would open their FB page in the users app (if they have it) rather than opening up another tab in their browser).

From the bit of Googling I’ve done, this seems far more complicated than I would have thought?

Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X, Cornerstone and Pro. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer.

You can try what looks like the FB protocol like this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/50683354/correct-way-in-2018-to-open-facebook-app-via-website-link. Please just note that can’t guarantee it will work.

With that said, you may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this.

You can also try posting in our Peer To Peer Forum to see if other users has experience on this.
