Odd behaviour - email opening and additional <P> elements

Hello,

In the last few weeks I’ve noticed a few weird things when editing in cornerstone. Any tips on what’s going wrong and how to solve would be really handy.

(I use Safari, 13.1.1, and these issues relate to The WYSIWYG editor)

Issue 1:
Pressing CTRL-I or CTRL-B whilst editing in cornerstone shares the link of the page via email (opens my email client and inserts the URL of the current page)

Issue 2:
When editing a text box, when I hit Enter for a new line, the editor inserts and extra “<p>&nbsp;</p>

Any ideas how to stop these two things from happening??
Thanks!

Hello Scott,

Thanks for writing in! Please be advised that when using the Rich Text Format editor, the new line and lines breaks will be automatically converted into <p> and <br> tags. If you want to prevents this from happening, you will need to switch to HTML editor instead.

Please let us know if this works out for you.

Thank you, I understand this, however each new line is converted into two sets of

tags.

Also just to clarify, this is not whilst use of the rich text editor but whilst editing “on page” in the WYSIWYG editor

Hi Scott,

Thank you for writing in, 1) the issue with pressing CTRL-I or CTRL-B opens an email client could be an issue with your browser setting’s or browser’s extension. Try using a different browser and see if the issue still happening.

2.) Generating <p> tag automatically on your content using the RICH TEXT editor (WYSIWYG) is a native feature of WordPress, try the solution provided here and see If that prevents WordPress from generating <p> tag. If not, please do a Testing for Plugin Conflict.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!
