Novice help: Create a new page that replicates my main page

First, I am a Wordpress and X-Pro theme novice! Yes, I am dangerous…

I used the X-Pro “auto shop” sample as my WP design. I have modified the “auto shop” pages to reflect my uses. Really like the “auto shop” sample, and there would be no way, at my present skill level, I would have been able to design such active pages. But I have reached a skill/knowledge hurdle I need help with.

When I create a NEW PAGE in WP, it formats the page with my X Header and theme elements, but it formats it like a “blog” page with “recent posts, recent comments, archives, categories, etc…”. I want the page to be full width like the pages in the “auto shop” sample. When I save a full-width page as a template and then insert that template into the new page, the template only inserts in the content area on the left side, leaving the “blog stuff” to the right.

I cannot figure out how to make a NEW PAGE without that “blog” type format. HELP! Please…

Here is my page so you can see my full-width format.

Thanks in advance for helping this noob out!

Hey Robert,

if you havent already figured this out, what you want to do is change the “template” in Wordpress. Easy way on the backend: View All Pages, hit “quick Edit”, and select the template you want (Blank, No Container, header, Footer). Try them all to get a feel for what each one actually represents
