Is there a favored plugin for users to be notified through cookies of a new post. You know like when there is a little red dot next to the bell symbol and you click it and it gives a simple drop down of the latest posts and you can click on them if you want…?

You mean like in social networking notifications? I tried searching one but can’t find any or at least a closer one.

Still doable with custom development, you may wish to contact a developer for this kind of implementation.

No something like a service from getpushmonkey that also offers a plugin. or something like onesignal

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend any plugin. I would suggest you consulting our Facebook X and Pro Theme Users which counts with more than 10k users and is a really pro-active community. I bet a lot of people would be interested in that.

I am looking for something similar to how the account notifications work in Apex where a little blue dot appears if there is a post you haven’t seen. This is all over the internet now and would be great if incorporated into X.
This is different than a push notification service though that sends notifications to specific browsers and apps etc. I’m talking about just using cookies to let returning visitors know there is a new post and then provide those posts in a dropdown.
I’m having trouble finding a plugin to do this but I’m not sure why because that little notification bell is everywhere.
