Not mobile friendly

Hey Themeco team,

One of your colleagues recently shared with me the calc method to make my text size responsible. I’ve used this here > https://www.honestyforyourskin.co.uk/about/ - also for images.

However now Google Console is telling me the page is not mobile-friendly - and specifically that the ‘content is wider than screen’.

Please can you help me to understand what attributes Google’s referring to?

I’ve changed a few things to try and guess at what this is - however, none of my changes have worked.

Thanks,

Cheryl

Hello Cheryl,

Thanks for writing in! Before you continue with your test, please fix first the font size in one of your section that is current set with incorrect value.

Please double check other font sizes and any invalid values you may have added and then do another round of test again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Ruenel,

Thank you - I’ve just fixed this and the page still returns as not mobile friendly.

Can you help?

Thanks,

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

The about page you link above is mobile friendly

Then I check your homepage and there I see the issue, but this issue is commonly happening because the Google bot does not properly read your page because some of its resources is being blocked. In the Page Loading Issues area, you will see that Googlebot was not able to load a few essential stylesheet files, I say essential because those .css files contain mobile styling.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Hi Friech - thank you for this help. My hosting team tell me the Google bot is not blocked. See their answer below;

“I was not able to find such an issue. Google’s bot is not blocked to visit those elements. I have reviewed the logs and there are only request with status 200OK from Google’s bot. I am providing you with the latest request from their bot:”

I do have some anti-bot code on my site but it’s not for the Google bot.

Can you help - what should i do next?

thanks,

Cheryl

Hello Cheryl,

You do not have any scripts that blocks the bots. I have tested the page again and the page is already mobile friendly. I am also seeing these three minor errors which are coming from 3rd party link resouces.

Cheers.
