Not able to scroll below revolution slider on Safari

Hi.

I’m having a problem with a site. When using Safari it’s not possible to scroll down below the slide on top of the page – when using a mouse.

The page can be seen here; https://www.skallevold.no/

I’m using the same kind of slider on a different site – seen her; https://www.pksscandinavia.no. But there it seems to be working fine. So apparently there must be some difference regarding the settings. But I’m having a hard time finding it. skallvold.no is using the Pro theme, and the other one is using X.

Could you please help me and look into this?

Regards
Christian Albretsen

Hey Christian,

I checked your site on Safari and I didn’t get the issue you described.

Would you mind giving us the Operating System name and version and also the version of Safari you’re using?

Thanks.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply.

I’m using OS 10.11.6 (El Capitan), and Safari 11.1.2.

Christian

Hey Christian,

When the slider is loading, a double scrollbar is generated and that is the indicator that something within the slider is overflowing on its container. I could see the issue even in Window Chrome now but it’s worse in El Capitan.

Would you mind giving us the following credentials in a Secure Note so we could duplicate the slider and tweak the settings? Before that, please ensure everything’s up to date according to our Version Compatibility page.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Hi.

Thanks again. I’ll send you the details for login by secure note.

Regards.

Hey Christian,

I was investigating but suddenly, your site went down. I just tested removing the background which seems to fix the issue. I was checking why but your site went down.

Please contact your web host to fix that first so we could continue investigating.

Thanks.

It seems to be working fine again now.

Hey Christian,

Your site worked for a bit but went back to the “can’t be reached” state after a few minutes. Please contact your web host regarding this for us to continue investigating. If some IP restriction is enabled in your site, have your host deactivate it temporarily too.

Thanks.

Ok, thanks. I’ll ask them to check and I’ll get back to you.

Hey @christian3,

Please let us know if your website is ready to access.

Thanks

Hi.

There’s now been made some changes to the server regarding blocking ip-adresses. Could you please now try again?

If you again experience the lack of access – could yoy please provide me with your ip-adresse? Then it’s easier to see whats going on regarding why you are blocked on the server.

Hello @christian3,

I am using Safari 13.1.2 on MacOS 10.15.6 (Catalina) and I could not replicate any issue in your site. I can scroll pass through the slider down to the bottom of the page.

The same behavior appears in Chrome and there is no issue. Do you see double scroll bars in your browser? Please take a screenshot and send it to us.

Regards.

Hi again.

I’m not seeing any scrollbars. But I’m using older versions as described before. So there’s a difference from what we’re experincing.

Your collegue mentioned earlier that he also experinced difficulties scrolling the page.

But as mentioned earlier – i have another site with the same use of the slider; pksscandinavia.no. And there it’s working fine. So somewhere there must be a difference in the settings or something else.

Hey Christian,

I believe I found what’s causing the issue and it’s a fixed bar height in your footer. I’ve set it to auto and I could no longer replicate the issue.

Please clear your browser’s cache and check again. Also, check in incognito or private mode.

Hope that helps.

Hi again.

After clearing my browser (and cache on website) the problem unfortunately seems to persist.

I’ve tried do deactivate the slide on the frontpage. And then I’m able to scroll down. So don’t you think there’s something wrong with that slider or settings?

Regarding the footer – I think this was higher earlier. And the text was centered. Have you changed the settings there when you made some adjustments?

Regards

Hey Christian,

Yes, I’ve set the height of the footer bar to auto. Please keep it that way and use the Top and Bottom Padding to make the bar taller.

Regretfully, I can no longer replicate the issue after setting the footer bar’s height to auto so I have no more test to try.

I’d just suggest that since the slider in the other site is working or not causing issues, please export it and import it in the site that is having an issue and use the slider and edit it.

Another test you could do is create another blank slider with the same layout settings as the slider with issue then check if it works. You can then add layers and effects one at a time while checking if the issue will come back each time you do that.

Thanks.

Hi.

Ok, and thanks again. I’ll try to set up a new slider, or import the other one. Thanks for your effort

Hi again.

One thing – could you please help me a little bit further?

Regarding the footer bar. I’m having trouble centering the text now – for some reason. The text is defined as center. But still it’s not.

Could you please take a look?

Regards

Hi Christian,

Please reset the Content Max Length options of Bar from 1200px to none to make that 100%. And then set the Align Horizontal of container to Center.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hi.

Thanks! Now it works fine
