Not able to edit pages originally created in Block Editor

I recently purchased Pro for a new client site. I’m unable to edit existing pages that were created with the Wordpress Block Editor…all I get is the header and footer and a prompt to create a new page based on an existing template etc as if I were making a new page in pro. The site is fully published so this shouldn’t be happening. I’m not unfamiliar with Pro, I have built 2 sites with it. I can provide access via private message if necessary, the site is nbsprotection.com. I have checked the forum but have not found a resolution, please advise.

Hi Jodi,

Thanks for reaching out.
Please remember that the content added through the Cornerstone editor is not editable in the Block or Gutenberg editor, and vice versa. That might be the reason why you are not able to edit or modify the content.

Thanks

So essentially I would need to create the entire site again in Cornerstone to use cornerstone as an editor? Is that what I am understanding here?

Hello Jodi,

No, in case you have created a page called A using the Gutenberg editor then you need to edit that page in Gutenberg page editor only. In case you have page B and you have edited with the Cornerstone page builder then you need to edit the page with the Cornerstone page builder only to avoid the compatibility issue. You may Cornerstone page builder and Gutenberg on your site but you need to edit separately based on the used page builder and Gutenberg block editor.

Thanks

So, what I said is accurate. In order to use the cornerstone editor on each page it needs to be created in Cornerstone, which means to use cornerstone on the whole site it would need to be re-created in cornerstone. I wish I knew that before investing in the template because we are having Pro theme compatibility issues (for example buttons created in Block Editor don’t follow the theme settings and can’t be adjusted for color or style, they just default to black) that can’t be edited in Gutenberg or the Block Editor, I would have just stuck to the themes I was provided with by the hosting co in this case.

Hey Jodi,

Yes, that’s how Cornerstone works. In order for the content to be edited inside Cornerstone, it should be build inside the builder.

Thank you.
