No Global Block found

Hey Guys,

I’m trying to edit a global block that looks a bit to crowded on mobile devices. When I try to edit the global block from a page, it gives me the option to select one of our global blocks but when I go to Global Blocks in the navigation menu to edit the blocks, I get a No Global Block Found message. Please advise.
Thanks!

Hello Danny,

Thanks for writing in!

You are having this issue because you have created the global blocks through the " Global Blocks for Cornerstone and X Pro" plugin which is not supported by the theme. You can only edit the global blocks that were created using the Pro > Global Blocks.

Best Regards.

Thanks. Can you clue me in as to why our developer used the plugin instead of using cornerstone?

Hi Danny,

I am not quite sure why your developer uses that Global Blocks for Cornerstone and X Pro plugin but that plugin is outdated and it was updated last 5 months ago. Then we have a major update and that’s the reason why the code on that plugin is not working anymore. I suggest that you consult with your developer on the purpose of why he uses that plugin.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

I have exactly the same issue, but I’m the developer myself. I am unable to edit the global blocks that I created one year ago after updating to the latest version of Pro. Please explain the migration process from your outdated plug-in to the new version of X Pro, because I heavily rely on the use of global blocks.

For your information, I don’t use the plug-in as mentioned by Danny, but created the global blocks with the old Theme X Pro.

Actually, I’m not even able to edit headers, footers, global blocks, everything except for pages. This is insanely frustrating.

Hi Hindrik,

We are sorry to hear that you are facing such problems, but it will be very difficult to recognize the issue without investigating through the admin dashboard. Can you please create a new thread and provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to investigate it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Please note that a secure note is visible to the Thread author and the Staffs, so I would request you to create a new thread to share the above details.

Thanks

Just so you know, we’ve never used this plugin that you mention at the beginning of the thread and we’re also missing all our global blocks. even the ones created after the update to 4.X! they exist in the db, they are showing in the front-end and everything yet every global block that exists is not showing at all as available when you go to the editor > global blocks.

The only way to edit them is to write the url with the correct id: https://site.com/pro/global-blocks/ID-GOES-HERE (the id on the global block shortcode. i think that if you inspect the options of the dropdown menu in the global block element, you’ll be able to find the id as well).

we’re a bit busy right now so we can’t debug this further or provide you access (We saw this while updating a site that exists since V2) but we’ll open a new thread when we have a chance.

Ok, thanks for reporting this, @franticape. We’ll be happy to assist you directly when you open your thread.
