Previously I could not update wordpress as it was conflicting with old version of Xtheme pro. I have now updated to new version of Xtheme pro, and i am able to use new version of wordpress. However when I do this I can not get any elements to edit in the cornerstone builder.
I have to use the old version of both wordpress and Xtheme pro to get everything working

I would suggest you please update the PHP version greater than 7.4. I also recommend you ask your web host to configure the following server settings with the specified values or more for the PHP.
memory_limit = 512M
upload_max_filesize = 512M
post_max_size = 512M
max_execution_time = 300
max_input_time = 300
max_allowed_packet = 16MB
innodb_log_file_size = 128M
allow_url_fopen = On
Now you need to update the WordPress version and all the plugins and Pro themes. Please note you need to purge all the cache so that the latest code renders properly. I would suggest you please have a look at this doc to learn more about how to update the theme.
I would also suggest you please have a look at this doc to learn more about how to get rid of the broken site appearance after the theme update.
