Hello @RPronk,

Thank you for writing in! You must have translated the page incorrectly. Please check out the detailed instruction on how you can translate a page in Cornerstone or Pro editor using WPML. You can check it out here: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/xtheme/

While editing the page, find the WPML flags in the lower right corner of the editor preview.

And then copy the existing page that needs to be translated so that you will have the same page layout.

Hope this helps.

Ok got you! Did this, i got this window to ask copy existing content or start blank. Copied existing content, saved it. Changed one title to check. Saved it, all looks good. Want back to dashboard and got a warning.

After this warning same issue, english translated page is empty

Hi @RPronk,

May I know which homepage you’re trying to translate? The home is a blog page which isn’t translatable in the builder. I tried it with test WPML page and works just fine. Have you updated the page location? Please provide the updated URL.

For the meantime, could you try turning on the classic translation https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/translation-editor-options/?utm_source=wpmlplugin&utm_campaign=tm-settings&utm_medium=translation-editor-options&utm_term=translation-management? Then test it again.

Thanks!

Sorry if you are right then there must be something wrong with my install. The home page is a page, it is listed between pages. All the test i have done are pages.

This is a new page: https://jittysamsterdam.com/testwpmlpro/

Another page with i tried is this one: https://jittysamsterdam.com/test-translation/

I have changed the setting back to classis translation, it was on classic yesterday just tried today if that would help
Thanks

Hi @RPronk,

Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials too? I’ll try using my copies of WPML but I’ll backup your existing ones.

What’s weird is, the warning is about the translation editor and it shouldn’t appear like that if you have the manual translation. https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-issue/48740. And yes, I’m able to reproduce the warning now, then this time an error to the builder related to /cornerstone-endpoint/

Please check this as well https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-string-translation-blocks-cornerstone-language-switcher/52216

Thanks!

I made a reply with the ftp login

Hey @RPronk,

The WPML’s Translation Editor is active on the pages you posted.

You should only be using Manual Translation method. I’m not sure why that is not available in your site though so please contact WPML support to enable Manual Translation in your site.

There currently also is a known issue with the recent version of WPML, String Translation and Translation Management so you’ll need to downgrade to the following versions.

Thanks.

Hello, ok trying to downgrade now but this will also mean i would need to step back to php 5.6. This is not preferable…

Can i aks what is the know issue? Because i do not like to run my site at php 5.6… I have done now, i have downgraded wolml to the versions you told me and downgraded to php 5.6 but before launching this site in two months i need to get back to php version 7 or higher

Hi @RPronk,

There is no need to downgrade to PHP 5.6, I have those WPML versions and I’m on PHP 7+ as well. Could you try downgrading the WPML and it addons first and check it again? Make sure to back-it-up first.

The issue is it’s forcing the translation with its own translation editor instead of manual translation for the builders.

Thanks!

Thank you. It works on php 7.1. I just had an issue on this folder and siteground told me to downgrade, but this was not necessary.

I did a full reset on WPML settings and data and now my first try the page is translated successfully. Now i need to see how the rest goes (menu’s and other stuff). For now thank you for your help. I will let you know if all goes well

Thanks

Glad it’s working now, cheers! Sure, please let us know if translation issue persists. Thanks!

I performed the xml steps as described here and that helped even more:

Thanks for sharing.
