New X Theme Update Causing Website Issues

Every since I recently updated my X Theme my website has been running slower and multiple items aren’t displaying on the site.

  1. The Revolution Slider at the top of the homepage is only displaying on mobile and not on desktop.
  2. The Simple Banner I had installed that displayed at the top of every page is now nowhere to be seen.
  3. When you click on a series category at https://purplerocketpodcast.com/podcast you no longer see anything. You used to see a page with all the posts under that category displayed from oldest to newest.

This update has caused a lot of issues. Please help ASAP.

Thanks!

Hi @gregwebb44,

There seem to be other problems happening while I checked your website which seems not to be related to the update. But I am not sure as I do not have access to your website admin.

At the moment I see three errors:

(index):1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <
(index):1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier
(index):1 Uncaught ReferenceError: n is not defined
  • The first error shows that there is a problem in HTML code. Please check if you added any custom HTML code somewhere which you did not close a tag correctly. Also, it might be a case that you added HTML inside JS option in X > Theme Options > JS which will be a wrong move.
  • The second and third errors are Javascript ones which might be related to the Google Analytics wrong code or something else. For this, try to remove and Javascript code that you added and also it may be a good idea to check for a plugin conflict, by disabling all the plugins except the Cornerstone and check the case.

Thank you.

I haven’t done any of those things. I don’t even know how to add code. All I did was update the theme.

Hello Greg,

Thanks for updating the thread.

I checked the website and don’t see any configuration related issue but I can see the error messages that my colleague reported in previous reply.

At the moment I would suggest you to test for plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time. There are around 50 plugins that are active on the website and I am not allowed to make any changes on the website without taking permission from customer. In case problem is still there, please share the FTP login details in secure note.

Thanks.
