New version of cornerstone breaking website on theme X

image

On front page at least, the hamburger menu stopped working. What might be causing this?

This started mysteriously working, but can you check if there’s something still wrong with the menu?

Theme has forgotten custom styles, this it what it shows on front end. (upper)

This is what it should look like as it is in the editor. (lower)

Also these texts were aligned to left before, now they are centered:

I also dug a bit deeper and found that the styles in cornerstone editor are not registered in the front end for some reason. If I put the same styles in inspector, they work.

Even though they are in cornerstone, they dont work.

First time I tried to open the editor after the update it threw me “critical error”. This is due conflict between cornerstone & litespeed cache.

Tiedoston /home2/kouvola3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/litespeed-cache/autoload.php rivillä 35 havaittiin virhe lajia E_COMPILE_ERROR. Virheviesti: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home2/kouvola3/public_html/wp-content/plugins/litespeed-cache/src/htaccess.cls.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php74/usr/share/pear’)

I disabled the plugin and it helped.

Hi @Marcus,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have investigated your website and found that the X theme is not updated to its latest version i.e 9.0.6 but the Cornerstone is already updated to the latest version i.e. 6.0.6.

The issue you are having might be due to the incompatibility between X and Cornerstone. I would suggest you update the X theme by following the below steps.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version by downloading from your Themeco Account
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

After you update the X and *Cornerstone by following the above steps, please clear the Style Cache from X > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and update.

If that does not help, please share the credentials for the user having the Administrative privilege for further investigation.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hello,

I tried these steps but it didn’t seem to help. The styles are still not working correctly.

Both versions are now up to date. Due this update, it broke now also the instagram feed on the front page, but I believe it’s outside of the scope of the support.

I added the account I gave you administrative rights, I forgot to update them when sending. My bad!

Hi Marcus,

Thank you for the credentials, I investigated the issue and found an error on your Theme Options > CSS area, you missed one closing bracket } and mess up the styling.

The issue with Instagram Feed seems to be within the plugin itself, try to deactivate and reactivate that plugin, then reconnect the Instagram account that you want to feed on.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Awesome, thank you. Weird that it was working before the update just fine, glad you found it and sorry for the trouble!

Hi Marcus,

Glad that we are able to help you.

Thanks
