New Cornerstone - Row Attributes

Hi, guys:

  1. I use to be able to set-up a row with marginless columns and no container.
While I still see the no container attribute, I can’t, for the life of me, find how I should extend the row from side to side (no container) without gaps on the left and right!
Please see the following page, top row:
    https://clipsandclicks.media/website-crafting/
  2. Also, there are various glitches when I try to hide various objects for the mobile view: I try to set the attributes and they keep on disappearing randomly, not what I set: sometimes they don’t show up, although all the boxes are checked off. Same thing with what shows up on my Cornerstone editor screen: if I check something off it vanishes from my editor and I have to reverse the command to finish styling.
    Please help.
    Thank you,
    Diana

Trying to figure this marginless columns and no container as well. Been trying for an hour. If I find out before support answers, will let you know.

Hey Diana,

To achieve a marginless columns setup in the new Row Layout system, just set the Gap Width to 0.

You can learn more about the New Row in this video: https://youtu.be/6pN_a4eD5NM

For the disappearing elements, it would be best that you open this issue in a separate thread? That is because mixing topics in one thread often leads to confusion which is not good both for you and the support staff. Would also you mind providing a screen recording so we could see what actually is happening? I could not replicate it in my test site.

Thanks.

Thanks for the answer:
The gap is ALREADY set at 0, this was the first thing I did. It just modified the gap between columns, not the gap which here is being discussed.
As the other user has pointed, I spent two hours trying to figure it out. I tried first to duplicate the row of pictures that you see below in the page and I ran into the second issue presented above: show, no-show on desktop & mobile. Then I built a new row from scratch. Again, spent time to eliminate the gap. Now I have no solution, because the solution presented by you is already applied, to no avail.

I am very discouraged by the evolution of this theme: hours on end I waste trying to fix little things and then submit to you a query, then wait, which doesn’t reflect in the overall return on time investment. I already have 1 licence of yours that I don’t use anymore. It requires a TON of work on tiny details that should be a breeze!

I believe this gap 0 works may be working with a full-width page, whereas I have a “no container-header-footer” page in this case.
Do you have any other solution than gap=0?

Changed the page attribute to:
Blank/No Container/Header/Footer in the main

Then made sure Global Container was off.

This gave me marginless column. If I remember correctly, you could achieve that before regardless of page attribute?

Hello Diana,

Do you want to achieve something like this?

In your first section, first row settings, the “Marginless Columns” must be turn ON and the “Inner Container” must be turned “OFF”. And then you adjust the gaps of the new Row element.

Tip: So that you will not easily get lost with the sections, rows, columns, rows, columns, most usually if you have some nested rows and columns, you can use the skeleton structure in the layout tab to click on which column, row or section you’d like to adjust or check the settings.

@Isabelle_808:
Please keep in mind that the Global Container or Inner Container option` in the row settings, will only be relative to the section. The section width will still depends on the container of the Page template which is why you usually use Blank - No Container page templates is you want to have a fullwidth sections.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. Will take a bit to get used to. Will reach out if any issues.

You’re must welcome,

Cheers!

Yes, for the old version of the row. The new version doesn’t have the same features. If you scroll down on the page I have a row that does exactly that. Unfortunately, when I tried to duplicate that one, I ran into show-no show various columns, based on what settings I had before the Cornerstone updates (I didn’t want to have all pictures showing on the mobile version and the new Cornerstone was showing me that all are available on all screens - all screens were checked off-, whereas I could see that it was not the case on mobile version). As a result, I introduced a new row and voila…
many conversations and discussions later and a couple of hours of trying before we wasted so much time for literally nothing.
“The section width will still depend on the container of the Page template which is why you usually use Blank - No Container page templates is you want to have fullwidth sections.”
Yes: Blanck, No Container, Header Footer is what I chose. @Isabelle_808, scroll down on that page and you will see a row that extends from side to side.

Why would Cornerstone change something that works?! And remove features?!

This type of gig is money sensitive for all of us and this is a perfect example that this theme in combination with Cornerstone is not up to 2019 market demands. Stable, but painful and time-consuming.
I’ll delete the row and make it v2. Whatever…
Cheers,
Diana

The page was loaded from a template that was made before the Cornerstone update. As all my site is. Somthing was not liked by Cornerstone. I did all that is described by you. If I could upload a picture I couldm hsow you.
Anyways, thanks for your effort.
Cheers,
Diana

Hello Diana,

We’re sorry you’re having a hard time. Though every decision and UI changes are carefully discuss for ease of use.

Can you give us screencast showing the duplication of the row, and the result? Which part is not correct? And then what is the expected end result? Then try to share credentials inside a secure note so we will check it directly and see where the issue is coming from.

@Isabelle_808

In case you are still having an issue, please do open a new thread and we will gladly help you there. Thanks.
