New Cornerstone headline tag

Hi,

Using the new Cornerstone headline element, Yoast SEO doesn’t seem to be able to identify my headlines as headlines (e.g. h1).

This is not a big deal for me, unless Google doesn’t either?

The text seems to still have the h1 tag, but is nested inside span tags. Do you know if it has a negative impact on SEO, or it doesn’t matter?

Hope my question makes sense.

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, that is because Cornerstone elements content is stored in post meta, it’s not detected by Yoast’s content analyzer. With that said this render the Yoast Analysis irrelevant, but don’t get the wrong idea Yoast still works with X Theme, it just the Analysis that has the issue. This is only a back-end issue though.

The good thing is, search engines read the actual page/front-end, so rest assured that your h1 tag and other tags that have a factor with SEO will detect/read by the search engines.

Please read this article how much the factor of h1 in SEO in this modern-day.

Hope this shed some lights,
Cheers!
