New cornerstone - element editing not sticking to left panel

One of the great aspects of Cornerstone was how when you are editing, your editing remains in the left panel so you can see the changes in real time on the right.

Everything was placed logically within this left panel. I fear the latest update is now less easy to use, but I am hoping I will get used to it,.

But what I am hoping you can help me with is when I click a text element to edit, it pops up covering the text I am trying to edit. As the screenshot shows. How do I lock the editing panel to the left column?

Thanks.

Hello @ocduk,

Thanks for reaching out. The Text element content panel is a modal that you can drag around your screen. You cannot place it on the left panel. By the way, please check out this video demonstration to be more familiar with the new interface:

Best Regards.

I’m a bit confused, it was previously embedded in that left hand panel? Why as it been changed, that makes no sense. I can’t see the need to drag it around the screen all that frequently.

Hi @ocduk,

Thank you for reaching out to us. You can set the position of your Text editor once where it’s comfortable and it will stay there throughout your session.

This change is to make the editing faster e.g you can access other element settings while editing the text. Previously you could only edit either text or adjust the element settings. Now with the newer interface you can do both.

Hope this helps!
