Nest Pages & Clone Button Not Compatible with Pro?

Hey guys,

So I downloaded the Nested Pages (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-nested-pages/) plugin on Wordpress to organize my pages (100+ pages was getting out of hand). The plugin works beautifully except for one issue surrounding cloning pages…

When I clone a page, it defaults the WordPress page to edit in text mode, which removes a lot of the code + styling and intricacies of pages I’m created using Pro. After cloning, when I load pages in Pro after being in text mode - the pages appear blank in Pro.

Here is a screenshot of a page I duplicated just to clarify:

In the screenshot, I need the page to open by default using Pro, or perhaps there is some other work around? I’ve also contacted support for this plugin, but I imagine your users have had similar issues and might already have a solution here. Thanks!

Thanks for writing in.

So the issue here is after cloning the page, the page could not be edited in pro anymore. I recommend that instead of using the wp-nested-pages plugin for cloning the page, you could use save/load template.

Yea I’ve tried that and it works, but it is significantly slower in terms of overall workflow. Will update here if Nested Pages offers any sort of solution.

Are there any “duplicate / clone page” plugins that work with PRO?

You can take a look at Duplicate Post plugin. I have tested this with Pro Theme and it works quite well.

I actually was using the Duplicate Post plugin, but Nested Paged now takes precedence over that in the way it now displays all of the wordpress pages and posts.

Hey There,

Nested Pages must clone all the post/page meta attached to the page. The Pro editor will look for the editor data that is stored in one of the post/page meta and if it cannot find it, you may not be able to edit the newly duplicated page in the Pro editor.
