I would need to downgrade back to X as I made the mistake to upgrade to Pro on 2 of my licenses. Please advise on the process. The current sites are on theme x and have not updated current theme X to Pro 4.x. As said in one post I have read, if I deactivate Pro and activate X ( I haven’t uploaded or activated Pro 4.x yet on site) will my current Theme X headers and footers remain intact if I do in case of impossible downgrade of license? My concern other than familiarity with X as a “simple consumer” to stay with X is that with Pro will it change the look and feel (Sliders, forms, positions of text and images) of the site. Can this occur? Or will the site not incur any changes as a result of the migration to Pro; or is it just the fact that Cornerstone is “baked” into the Pro Content Builder with more bells and whistles? I have read your docs which state that you cannot revert but a forum post and response indicate to deactivate Pro and reactivate X (with previous X License ID of site?). Please advise. Thank you

There’s no option to downgrade your license from Pro to X. Your previous X license will not work anymore because it is already upgrade to Pro and there’s no way for you to validate your website. I suggest that you stay in Pro rather than downgrading to X because everything can be done in X theme is also available in Pro. Pro has an advance features like Layout, Header and Footer Builder. If your main reason is the familiarity with X, X and Pro has the same UI and functionality they only differ on the advance features which might be able to help you to build your future advance design.

Thanks for your reply. Ok I will follow your advice. Question: The site currently in X . I have not installed Pro theme 4.x yet. Newbie question; The site is still functioning with the X license. I assume as long as I don’t install Pro 4.x that shouldn’t pose problem; I just won’t be able to access and install future X updates? Is that correct?
Additionally you mention updating to latest version of X before migrating to Pro but I did notice that migrating to X 8.x Cornerstone fails (endless wheelie). If I upgrade form current X 7.x to Pro 4.x will that be an issue? Please advise.

You are correct. As long as the X theme is validated and not yet upgraded to Pro, you can still have access to and install future X theme updates.
When updating to X 8.0.11, you must also update Cornerstone to 5.0.11. If you upgrade from X 7.2.3 to Pro 4.0.11, no issue will be encountered because Cornerstone will be automatically deactivated. Still, we highly recommend that from X 7.2.3, you update the X theme to 8.0.11 first before going to install the Pro theme 4.0.11.
