Need help with background video

Hi,

I recently updated x-theme and cornerstone on a staging server and my background video isn’t showing up. You can see the current version here: https://hopestory.org (the video is at the top.) Here is the staging site: https://hopestory.flywheelstaging.com Happy to let someone look at my staging site to see what’s going on. Thanks!

Hello Rick,

It might be the issue of cache or any plugin conflict or maybe custom CSS/JS issue. I would suggest you troubleshoot a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing for Plugin Conflict
  2. CSS/JS Customization
  3. Version Compatibility
  4. Disabling Cache

If it doesn’t work for you, please share your details in a secure note. Please provide the following details

  • WordPress Login URL[Satging Server]
  • Admin level username and password [Satging Server]

HI, I don’t believe it’s a conflict with any plugins. I did go ahead and create a secure note. I appreciate your help.

Hello Rick,

I also believe that this has nothing to do with the theme. Can you please check with your hosting provider (Flywheel) and ask them why your video is not playing? It may be blocking the video from playing. Also, please do a plugin conflict test as suggested by @Prakash_s. One of the 3rd party plugin may be behind this issue.

Sir, I do not think that is correct. If you go to https://hopestory.org you’ll see the video is playing as it should on the older version of the theme. It only breaks when I upgrade the theme. I don’t see how Flywheel could have anything to do with that.

Hello Rick,

I had to download your page as a template to test the video on my local installation. This video also shows that Flywheel prevents me from playing the video.

If I use the video from your main site, https://hopestory.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/HopeStoryBannerTest.mp4, the video will play.
