NEED HELP! Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Cornerstone_Plugin_Base in /home2/jkilgour/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/utility/plugin-base.php on line 6

I accidentally deleted my cornerstone plugin, and attempted to reinstall and it came up with this error message after it installed and I tried to activate it:

“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Cornerstone_Plugin_Base in /home2/jkilgour/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/utility/plugin-base.php on line 6”

I have tried to go in to my Cpanel, but I just don’t know how to fix this issue without making it a bigger problem! I can give login details to support to fix this for me.

Would be much appreciated! Need this done ASAP!

Hey @JordanKilgour,

Step 1 : Uninstall and delete cornerstone via WP dashboard.
Step 2 : Delete Cornerstone plugin folder from wp-contents >> Plugins >> Cornerstone using FTP.
Step 3 : Reinstall fresh copy of Cornerstone using WP dashboard.

Let us know how it goes.

So I deleted it from WP dashboard, I went over to my FTP and located “Plugins” BUT now there is no “Cornerstone” plugin folder to delete…

I attempted to install it again, then go and permanently delete it through the FTP and go back over to wordpress and install and activate it and it came up with the same error.

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

Hi there @JordanKilgour,

Thanks for your patience here. I’ve taken a look and see you are using “Pro”.

Pro doesn’t require Cornerstone as it uses it’s own Content Builder. This is why you was getting the error when trying to activate Cornerstone.
