My Header Nav Toggle Stopped Working

Hi,

I’m close to launching our site, and today as I was mobile optimizing, the Nav Toggle stopped working on pages containing a MaxGalleria slider. I don’t have any idea why. Can you help please? It is not working on both the regular and the mobile versions.

Header menu works normally on this page: https://markcutlerdesign.biz/projects/

Header menu no longer works on any of the pages linked from the grid like this one: https://markcutlerdesign.biz/atherton-contemporary/

I’ll put login info below.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked your page and I see you have added a JS script in the cornerstone custom JS section which is triggering an error and breaking the functionality on that page. Please remove the script from the page JS section to fix the error.

Also check other pages if you have that script in other pages too then remove it to fix the issue.

Don’t forget to clear all caches including your browser’s cache after removing the code. Let us know how this goes!

I have removed the code from all the pages it was on but am still having the issue with the menu. I did clear my cache and refreshed. Any other ideas of what could be causing the problem?

I just noticed the problem today and deactivated the two new plugins I activated yesterday afternoon. The only changes I made to these pages was to the CSS and adding some mobile sections.

Thanks!
Jen

Hey Jen,

I did some deep testing and found out the two conflicting plugins ( MaxGalleria and Maxgalleria Slick Carousel for WordPress ) that are breaking your site’s functionality. As soon as i deactivated them and cleared the cache the menu started to work as expected. Since it’s your live site I have activated the plugins again. You can go ahead and deactivate those plugins and maybe use Revolution Slider instead, please see https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/carousel/

As your site is on heavy cache, make sure to purge all caches and don’t forget to clear your browser’s cache after deactivating the plugins.

Cheers!

I’ve been using the sliders for a while now while building the site and only had an issue with them when I did the mobile version. I like the MaxGalleria slider because it lets me do multiple widths when I slide. Anyway, maybe the issue is that I have two sections with the slider, one for mobile and one for desktop. that’s when the menu broke. I’ll see if taking out the extra one works.

Thanks,
Jen

And that was the problem. I didn’t like having two sliders in two sections. It is fixed now and I was able to do the mobile version height with CSS (instead of inline CSS).

Thanks for your help!

Glad to hear it’s sorted.

Cheers!
