The Google Map Plugin that comes with ThemeCo X isn’t working for me. It says Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details. Can someone help me get it fixed?
Hello There,
Thanks for writing in! Did you add an API key to your Google Map? You can get the google api key from here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
Please watch this tutorial on how to generate an api key:
Hope this helps.
On a side note… If you have generated and set up the API correctly you may find that Google maps may/may not load in Cornerstone’s live preview. Preview the page live (outside cornerstone) to see if it’s working correctly.
Thank you for your input. It should load fine on both ends.
Google Maps displays correctly on my site when visiting the page naturally, but displays the error message from within Cornerstone.
I cannot work out how to fix this.
The same happens on all of my sites as well. It’s a little annoying but easy enough to work around.
I agree. It’s not a an element with tons of options.
Hi there,
It could be random, it may load and may not depending on what’s loaded first (javascript). This issue started when Google update their API and standard for the map. The new google map API now generate multiple sets of javascript in which they didn’t pass through WP Enqueue (Wordpress standard way of integrating javascript). Hence, the builder preview is unable to capture those javascript, those javascript is only generated in user’s browser and not within server side’s scripts.
Our developer is still on it, I’m just not sure when it could be fixed.
Thanks.
You are welcome!
