Multisite with x theme

I have a multisite using subdirectories installed and i read in the support forum, that i should be able to run x on all site without buying a new license for each site.
Anyway i tried to buy a new license to each web site because is a different project.
Seems x don’t work and i can’t validate the registration.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in.
One license can be applied in multisite installation as long the other sub site/domain is the same entity as where license is assigned to. In which it promote the same and single site.

Licenses work on multisites or even multiple isntalls as long as they are on the same domain. For example http://www.yourdomain.com/region1 to http://www.yourdomain.com/region7 will work, however region1.yourdomain.com will not work and will require separate licenses for each if you are doing separate installs.

You would need to do a WordPress multisite install and validate on the main domain meaning set the API key for that domain. In a multisite install you can set it to use folders (www.yourdomain.com/region1) or subdomains (region1.yourdomain.com) the main domain controls the theme settings accross all sites so if you validate there it gets passed down to all sites within the multisite network.

Hope this helps clear things up. Thanks!

Hi there, can I please just confirm I understand this correctly? If I have a multisite setup using subdirectories (ie. mysite.com/site1, mysite.com/site2 etc) then I only need to purchase one licence, and it will be able to be used at the same time on all of these subdirectory sites? Will be awesome if this is the case! Cheers

Hi There,

Each license allows you to validate and should be used in 2 wordpress installations max.

One for your live site and another to your development site.

Hope it clarifies.

Thanks

Hi there - it doesn’t clarify sorry, in fact it seems to contradict what was said earlier on this thread:

I am going to have multiple sites in subdirectories (not subdomains) and would like to know if this will be possible to have these under one licence. They will appear to be the same site to the end user, but we want to run them as separate installs under a multisite for administrative reasons.

Hi There,

You can use single licence in Multisite installation with subdirectories not for Sub domains.
If you are using subdirectories for all of your sites, nothing to worry about the licence. When you install separate WordPress in a subdirectory or a sub domain, at that time you need separate licence to validate the site.
One licence can be used in two separate installations, one in your development site another is your live site.
Hope this is clear now ?

Thanks

Hi all,

I am setting up a video hosting platform using a single installation multisite subdirectory setup and not subdomain. Each of my client will be having their own site(mydonain.com/site2) to upload their videos to our server. Clients will not be charged for the use of the theme but will be charged for our core business which is video hosting.

So kindly confirm that I will be using license correctly within my rights based on Envato license as I need to be sure.

Best regards,
Thebe

Hi Thebe,

If it is a multi-site and the subsites are not owned by your client (multiple end users) then yes that is fine.
