Hi. I am building a website for multiple users. Each user will have the Author role. For each user, I will create a Portfolio Category and a personal portfolio page. Through various code snippets in functions.php, I have restricted visibility and/or access to the personal ‘assets’ of other users. But I cannot find a way to force a user to choose their own Portfolio Parent when they create a new Portfolio Item.
Although I have no experience with it, I installed the BuddyPress plugin so I can experiment with things like Extended Profile Fields, the media enhancements, and user chat.
Can someone help me to devise a method that will associate a Portfolio Category with a User’s unique Portfolio? I would like to see this happen in one of two ways:
1 - The user does not see the Portfolio Parent field. The pre-defined Portfolio Parent is assigned to the User’s new Portfolio Item invisibly. Or -
2 - The User see the Portfolio Parent field, but it is disabled. The pre-defined Porfolio Parent is selected.
