Multiple Revolution Sliders on one page

I have four different revolution sliders on the home page. Until recently (can’t identify specific date - but about three months ago), all the sliders would display. Now only the first slider will display. The others never initialize or display. I’ve waited until now to post a support request as I wanted to get the site updated to the most recent version of X and Cornerstone as well as PHP7. Finally accomplished all that today successfully! But the slider problem has persisted. Still only the first slider displays.

Any suggestions?

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, please do a test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If that does not work, please re-install a clean copy of Slider Revolution, to do this deactivate and delete your current Slider Revolution and then re-install it from X > Overview > Extensions

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Did as suggested and disabled all plugins except Revolution Slider and Cornerstone. No change. Deactivated, deleted and re-installed Revolution Slider. No change.

Did further testing which confirmed that only the first Revolution Slider on the page will be displayed. When I removed first one from page, the second one would now display. When I removed the first and second ones from the page, the third one would display. Add the the two removed sliders back to the page and only the first slider is displayed.

Any more suggestions?

Hi there,

Please also provide the link to your site so that we can check it.

Thank you.

Of course. Can’t believe I left the url out. The home page is where the multiple sliders are located.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! It appears that you are using CloudFlare. Please login to your CloudFlare account and purge your site cache. For best results, please ensure that you are using the best recommended CloudFlare settings which you can find here: https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/

Moreover, since you are using SiteGround, could you please clear your site cache as well or disable the supercacher in your hosting panel? The SuperCacher is developed by SiteGround exclusively for their customers. It increases the number of hits a site can handle and boosts the website loading speed. The SuperCacher includes 4 different caching options for maximum optimization of your websites. You can access the tool by clicking on the SuperCacher icon in your cPanel.

For more information about this, please check it out here: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/supercacher_intro.htm

Hope this helps.

I had previously done both of these recommendations regarding SiteGround Super Cacher and CloudFlare. However, to be sure I check the settings in CloudFlare again and purged both Super Cacher and CloudFlare caches. No change in the results.

I seriously doubt the caching is the problem as this site has been using both SB Super Cacher and CloudFlare for over a year. The issue started before the upgrade to X5. I’m not certain, but I believe it started with the upgrade to Cornerstone which I did before the upgrade to X5. I’m pretty certain the issue is related to Cornerstone, not SiteGround and caching. I’ll do some testing on a Themeco hosted site and see if the issue persists.

In the meantime, if you have more suggestions, please send them my way.

Hi there,

I double checked the case and accessed your website. I created a test page and added one of the sliders that is not showing there and it shows ok:

https://paals.org/test-page/

This shows that the theme does not have any conflict and there is a problem on the page you are using itself. I installed the Duplicate Post plugin and used that to clone your homepage. I named it Home Test. Please go to that page and try to delete other parts of page one by one to see which section is causing the conflict issue. On each step that you delete a section, save and see the result on the front end of the website.

Thank you.

Thank you for this additional effort. I will do as you request and post back the results when completed.

You’re most welcome and let us know

After chasing many different rabbits down many different holes, I finally found the problem. It wasn’t X or Cornerstone. The problem was in one slide which had custom CSS and custom JS added to create a countdown timer on one slide on the first slider… When I removed the custom CSS and JS, everything started working normally again. Even though the offending slide was not in the current rotation, it was still causing the issue. The custom code all worked fine initially, so I’ve still got to figure out why it started causing this specific problem. But the multiple sliders not displaying properly is solved.

Thanks for all the assistance,

Glad to hear that and thanks for sharing. You’re most welcome
