Multiple h1 headings

Hello,

recently we noticed that we have three (more or less) h1 headings on different URLs of one of our clients website. A long time ago we set different styles of the h1 via Cornerstone by using different device views (at the bottom of Cornerstone). The headings were set via classic text elements.

How can we solve this issue without fixing every single subpage?

Best regards

Hi @knowmates,

Thanks for reaching out.
It is not very clear what the issue is that you are having right now. I have checked the page and found multiple h1 tags with the heading, but except one, all are hidden to a specific screen size.
If that is the issue, you need to change the heading tags for other screen sizes to have only one h1 tag on the page. If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us recognize the problem.

Thanks

Hello @tristup,

thanks for your reply!

The h1 tags are displayed/hidden in the source code according to the device. We just analysed the website with the SEO-tool ‘Screaming Frog’ and the tool showed us the multiple h1 tags as an error.

Therefore the question is: Did you change anything in the source code according to elements like these? The ‘Screaming Frog’ did not show us this error in the last analysis.

Best regards

Hey @knowmates,

We didn’t change anything on our end I highly suggest replacing the other h1 to h2 as SEO best practices.

Hope that helps.
