Multidomain mapping - editor doesn't show page preview

Hi,

I have “Multiple Domain Mapping on a Single Site” set up on my website with Pro installed. This is NOT Multisite. Basically, certain pages and posts are mapped onto a secondary domain by category. Here is a link to the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/multiple-domain-mapping-on-single-site/

I have set permissions across both domains through my .htaccess files so that each domain has permission to run actions and access files on the other. (I am not a developer but I am proficient in backend settings so I am open to advanced solutions.) Comment forms, email submit forms all work on both domains.

Everything works except for the Pro editor preview for mapped pages. The editor works for pages on the primary domain, but not for pages mapped to the secondary domain. I get the following error: “The preview could not load due to misconfigured URLs. This could happen if you are using multiple environments and the site URL was not updated after migrating.”

When I’ve had to edit these pages, I’ve edited them successfully by making changes in the “Layout” pane on the left. However, this is obviously a little more tedious for editing compared to the preview. Are there any server settings I can change to fix this error? Thank you.

Zeynep

Hello Zeynep,

Thanks for writing in! The Cornerstone Editor preview pane will load the pages using the same URL as the WP Site URL, Settings > General > Site URL. Since the page that you are editing is having a different domain, this is why you are no longer seeing any preview. Regretfully the plugin that you are using is currently not supported in Cornerstone. You will have to temporarily disable the plugin if you want to edit the pages. This is the only recommended workaround since the plugin is not supported.

Hope this helps.
