currently its possible to set 2 different background layers or images as a background. How can I add more layers?

Thank you for the screenshot, one way to achieve this is to combine all layers and make one image in an image editing software like Photoshop and use it as a background image.
Other possibility is through custom CSS as this is not a theme feature by default and is outside of our support scope, but we will do our best to help you getting started with the customization but we will not be able to implement it.
