Why are we limited to only 5 tabs? I know I can accomplish this with coding in a text element, but seems restrictive to limit this element to only 5. Any plans to change this?
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
It deals primarily with responsive concerns and how the classic tabs currently work. Adding more than 5 can lead to responsive issues that look off at certain screen sizes. We will be working on v2 tabs soon that should be able to take on much more content as needed. There is no ETA when this feature will be added but this is already in our feature request list.
Thank you.
Hello, is there any way to add more tabs to the limit?., which file should I edit? how?,
thanks
Hi There,
To extend this functionality, you can use the shortcode version of Tabs.
Follow the example below and add it into a Text element in Cornerstone.
[x_tab_nav type="six-up" float="none"][x_tab_nav_item active="true" title="Tab"][x_tab_nav_item title="Tab"][x_tab_nav_item title="Tab"][x_tab_nav_item title="Tab"][x_tab_nav_item title="Tab"][x_tab_nav_item title="Tab 6"][/x_tab_nav][x_tabs][x_tab active="true"]Content 1[/x_tab][x_tab]Content 2[/x_tab][x_tab]Content 3[/x_tab][x_tab]Content 4[/x_tab][x_tab]Content 5[/x_tab][x_tab]Content 6[/x_tab][/x_tabs]
Then you can add the following CSS rule into your Theme Options > Global CSS area.
.x-nav-tabs.six-up > .x-nav-tabs-item {
width: 16.6%;
}
Basically the value 16.6% you will get by dividing 100% by number of tabs (6).
Hope that helps.
Thanks!
