Modern Events Calendar: two problems

Hi,

I have MEC installed on a Pro site, and have two problems (website is www.simplysoulful.co.uk)

no.1 when a discount code is miss-typed it has a typo of “Discount copupon is invalid!”
I have tried changing the language files for the plugin (which had the typo and I fixed the typo but still getting the problem.) I have cleared cache and switched off Varnish caching and still get the issue

no.2 currently the MEC event admin notifications go to both the web developer (me) and the organiser (my client).

How can I change this so that only the client gets the event admin notifications?

I do not wish to change the overall site email address as I manage the website for my client, but equally i do not wish to be bombarded with emails for each event booking that is made

Best wishes

Scot

Update:

issue no.1
all of the language files and the coupon.php (in the plugins/modern-events-calendar/app/features/coupon.php)
need 3 instances of ‘copupon’ changed to ‘coupon’
This looks to be an issue with MEC for almost a year now that they have not addressed (according to my google search)

issue no.2 still outstanding

Hello There,

Thanks for updating us in!

1.) We will communicate with the creators of MEC plugin so that they can address or at least give us a resolution to this issue.

2.) You must make sure that you have set up the notifications correctly. You must include or exclude the event organizer from the email notifications. Please check out this documentation for further information:

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

I bought a copy of MEC to see if I could get an answer to issue 2) from the developers support…

this is what they said

"Hi Scot,

We don’t have an option for this feature, but I will forward it to the developer team to consider and make changes in the next updates if possible. "

from my personal experience, the MEC plugin is lacking in quite a few places, but especially in the area of email notifications

The following is a very short list of items I would love to see them implement (and maybe Themeco could apply a little persuasion/pressure?)

  • email notifications can’t include the event time
  • email notifications can’t link back to the event url
  • email notifications are generic across all events, so things like cancellation policy, directions, parking etc can’t be added to the booking confirmation email. (this could be partly solved by linking back to the event url)

I realise the above isn’t strictly support, but they seriously affect the usability of the MEC plugin

Thank you for all your help so far

Best wishes

Scot

Thanks for sharing, and looks like yes, these should be addressed by them as new features. Thanks!

Thank you @Rad, Will Themeco communicate this to the plugin devs?

Hey There,

Yes, our developers communicate with the creators of the plugin.
We will see to it that they will be made aware of any issues or feature request from the users.

Thank you.
