Modern Events Calendar problem with map using Translations

Hi there,

I’m using modern events calendar to promote the different events we are organizing during our project. The site is multilingual so I’m using at the same time WPML plugin to translate the events to the different languages, and the issue I’m having is the following. I’ve just created an event in the English language, adding all the information, and the exact location with coordinates, so the events page shows a google map of where the event is going to take place. The thing is that when I duplicate all the content to a second language, in this case to Portuguese, everything works fine except that the google map is not showing, and I don’t know why and how to fix it. Could you please assist me? Thank you in advance for your help :slight_smile:

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website and found that the Google Map is not showing in the Portuguese version. It will be very difficult to recognize the reason behind your issue without investigating it through the WordPress admin dashboard. I would suggest you, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Hello Ignacio,

Please temporarily disable the API KEY for Google Maps because it is outdated and has NOT been tested for 2 years. And then please make sure that the Maps has been properly set up in M.E. Calendar > Settings > Modules > Map.

Hi Ruenel,

I’ve just updated the google maps API info to the place you told me within ME Calendar, but I’m still having the same issue. I’ve just created a new event (this time in Spanish) and the google maps is showing up, but after translating it using WPML to english the map is not showing up in the translated version.

Hey Ignacio,

You need to translate your Locations first. You can do that in M.E. Calendar > Locations > [LANGUAGE].

I tested that and the https://sol-aqua.eu/?mec-events=smagua now has a map. Translate the rest of your Locations.

If ever you get the Item not updated error, that means you haven’t created a translation for the Location yet. Just go to WPML > Taxonomy Translation > Location and create translations for a location.
