Modern events calendar plugin not updating

Hi, my modern events calendar plugin is on version 6.6.1 and I am unable to update it using the plugin updater within Wordpress.

The updater tells me that there is a new version available but when I try to update it tells me that the plugin update file was not found.

What I can do?

Thanks for writing to us.

In case you have installed the plugin from our bundled plugin then I would suggest you deactivate the plugin and then delete the Modern Events Calendar plugin. After deleting the plugin I would suggest you go to the X/Pro —>Extensions —> click on the Install button to install the “Modern Events Calendar” plugin.

Please note you must have backup of the database and files before deleting the plugin.

Hello @aulaxativa,

The safest way to delete a plugin is by logging in to your FTP and browsing to the wp-content/plugins/ folder and then deleting the MEC folder.

I managed to update the plugin following your instructions. I am now on version 6.8.15 which I understand is the latest available.

It’s not the latest available, latest is 6.8.25. theme.co is 3 versions behind.
