Modern Events Calendar PayPal setup instructions needed - and issues with notifications and booking messages

Hello,

I m tying to find detailed instructions on how to setup paypal as a payment gateway with Modern Events Calendar.

On the MEC documentation site, there is only 1 very brief 1.44min video referencing woocommerce, but nothing for paypal or stripe.

I have never setup paypal as a gateway before so I really need instructions on how to do so.

Also, I wrote in about 1 month ago about a persistent issue with notifcation emails. I have the booking module enabled, and do not have the boxes ticked next to

-Auto verification for free bookings
-Auto verification for paid bookings

yet when i make a booking to test, it still sends an email titled “Your booking is received.” and the at the same time another one “Please verify your booking” - Both of which i do not need and is very confusing for the user.

Apex Staff wrote back to say it was a bug, yet it has been quick some time now - Has there been in progress on resolving this bug?

Lastly, my custom ‘Booking Success Message’ - is not showing up. Rather it is being overwritten by the default.

Hi Sophie,

We’re sorry but there is no documentation regarding PayPal and Stripe Gateways. What you can do is enable the setting and give PayPal and/or Stripe support a screenshot of what the MEC plugin needed like this.

There’s no news for the bug fix yet.

Regarding your “Booking Success Message”, can you give us a screenshot of this option?

Hi Christian,

here are my two screenshots about the booking success message. You will see what I have in settings, is different to what gets displayed upon submitting the form to register for an event.

Unless I have the wrong idea about where the “booking success message” is displayed…

Hi Sophie,

I was able to replicate this issue in my test sites.

We will forward this as a bug to the plugin developers.

Hopefully they can fix the issue soon.
