Modern Events Calendar - editing the events archive page in cornerstone

I can’t seem to add shortcodes or anything for that matter on the “Events” page within cornerstone. I have added “events” in the X theme settings under “allowed post types” but nothing is working.

Can you please assist?

Hey @Project_Business_Onl,

The Events page, just like a Blog page, could not be edited with Cornerstone. If you mean single events page, that is not possible either. Both pages are powered by their respective template file and would require custom development if you want to add extra content.

Thank you for understanding.

I’m trying to edit the event archive page, all I want to do is add a few shortcodes to highlight different events and to put a title with the same font as the rest of the website, so it’s inline with the branding.

I have seen this done in some YouTube videos but I can’t seem to do anything?

This is what the “Event” page looks like:

I’m in cornerstone and can’t add sections to the page?

Sorry for the confusion. I just tested and you can use Cornerstone on Single Events page. The pages under All Events.

Would you mind giving us the exact details of what page you’re trying to edit so we could try replicating on our end? Are you trying to edit an event category page?

Thanks.

I’m trying to edit the “Archive Page”.

The only thing that I seem to be able to edit is the skin.

No matter how many “Sections” I add within Cornerstone none of them appear?

Thank you for the clarification.

That will not work. Archive page like all other listing pages (Blog index page, Category pages. tag pages) content are managed by the php template file. The templates automatically populate the page. It cannot be edited using Cornerstone or all other page builder. That is how it works by default on wordpress. As stated, to customize it means customizing the template that handles that specific archive page.

Set up a normal Page how you want and use the Shortcode Generator from MEC to became the Event Listing how you want. Then put the Shortcode in a V2 Content Area on your Page.

Thanks for chiming in @The-E-Blog.

@Project_Business_Onl, that is a good alternative you might want to follow.
