Modern Events Calendar Carousel

I am unable to get the carousel for Modern Events Calendar to work on my site. I first added it to a new content area on my homepage via Cornerstone, where it collapses and shows no content. I then tried adding to a test page with no other content to no avail. I have also created a new shortcode and have tried varying the categories, carousel type, etc. Still no luck. I’m using version 3.1.0 of the plugin (latest and supported).

I occasionally get the following JavaScript error in common.js: “Uncaught ReferenceError: $st is not defined,” but it doesn’t appear to be related as the content doesn’t display before the error is encountered.

I can see modern events html structure when I drill down via Chrome developer tools.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for writing in! Upon testing your page URL, I can confirm the issue as well. Could you please try disabling your 3rd party plugins and test your issue again to see if you’re experiencing any conflict with another plugin.

If you have added any custom JavaScript into your site, try removing them temporarily and test your issue as well.

If you’re using a caching plugin, make sure to purge your server cache and disable any CSS/JavaScript minifications before testing.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problem. I disabled all non Themeco plugins (except for Modern Event Calendar, of course), and the carousel still doesn’t load. I’m not using any caching plugins currently, so that’s not it either. I also don’t have any custom javascript for the site.

Just as an FYI, I was able to load other shortcodes for ME Calendar, and I didn’t have any issues loading those. So that’s a good sign that the libraries are loading without issues, at least.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you,
Jeremy

Hi There,

Thanks again for writing in!
Can you please confirm if you have deleted the carousel from the page?
Seems there is no content in the page you have given.

Please add the carousel and send us your login details in a secure note so that we can have a look.

Thanks

No, the carousel is still there. Check the HTML:

Just for a little more context, here’s the WP admin edit page for that:

And here’s the setup for that shortcode:

I’m using the Church Demo as the basis for my application. Any scripting would be from that demo, as I haven’t added anything custom.

And I do have events for that category:

Hello There,

Thanks for the very detailed response. Please be advised that the events will only display in the carousel if you have added a featured image in your events. I would highly recommend that you edit each of your events and add some featured image in it.

Hope this helps.

That’s what I needed to know. Thanks to all of your for your help!

You’re most welcome!
