Modern events calendar - booking system error

I have setup an event:

When I want to use the booking system of modern events calendar at the bottom, it shows the error "Ungültige Anforderung
" = invalid request. My question: Do I need to buy I extra licence from modern events calendar to use the booking and payment feature or is it included with pro ? Or is it just a setup mistake by myself?

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for reaching out.

You don’t need a license to fully use all available features of the bundled plugins. You’ll only need a license if you wish a direct update from the plugin author or if there are premium features you wish to install that are usually hosted from their server.

And unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything from the front. Would you mind providing your admin login credentials in a secure note? It could be a booking setting related.

Thanks!

Hi Rad,
I have attached the note.

I try to setup Paypal as payment gatway. Unfortunately I cannot find any documentation. But I have created a sandbox account on developer.paypal.com to simulate the payment. But due to the error I cannot access the payment page

it would be also ok, if I can get the standard invoice option to work (the first one “payment on site”) and try paypal at a later point in time. I just need one payment option to start my business

Hi Thomas,

I’ve been checking and I can’t find what’s causing this. Would you mind creating a staging copy of your site? I like to deactivate and change something and I don’t want to do it on your live site.

And let’s discuss the first issue first

Please check this about the staging https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/slider-revolution-error-message/48874

Thanks!

Hi Rad,
I have not the skills to do this, because a friend is hosting my site etc. but I have created a full site backup/snapshot with Backupbuddy. Is that enough for what you want to try ?

Hello @Thomas,

We highly recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X updates in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:

If you have backup buddy and would prefer to troubleshoot using your live site, just install the under construction plugin and put your site in under construction mode so that we can troubleshoot your live site.

Please let us know how it goes.

ye I will make the site in the future more professional with a staging site, but atm I have not the time to do it. I have activated the “under construction” mode. Thank you!

Hi Thomas,

I deactivated almost everything and no luck, it’s still the same so I assume this issue is within MEC alone. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well? I’ll check if I can trace out the request and find what’s really causing this.

Thanks!

Hi Thomas,

I just found out that the error occurs due to invalid tickets, I’m not sure what setting of the tickets are the culprit. But once I deleted the existing tickets and added a new one, then it works just fine.

Could you try deleting all tickets and re-add them again?

Thanks!

yee u are my hero =))) Thank you so much!

Is it advisable to use my backup or do you think everything is as before and just continue?

/e:
I know which field is causing the error:

As soon as I use “Tickets verfügbar %s” it does not work anymore

And there is also a problem at the top:
As soon as I untick “unlimited” at the top, the maximum number is not available anymore. But I need to limit the attendees.
Normally the number field should appear when I untick “unlimited”.

Atm the whole system works only with unlimited places

Hi Thomas,

That kind of weird, the “Tickets verfügbar %s” is still there and it works. Then I tried the same setup on my installation and it’s working just fine regardless of the setting.

Or perhaps the tickets on your site are sold out (internal data related)? But it shouldn’t be the case since it also happens on the newly created event. Do you host environment has internal caching (like object cache, mem cach, or database cache)? It could be contributing to the issue as well, but I’ll continue checking.

Thanks!

hi Rad,
sorry but I don’t know if there are internal caching tools.
Have you change something in the codebase, because the unlimited button at the top works now as expected?

Hi Thomas,

Nope, I didn’t do anything from the code. It could be due to internal cache, and glad it’s working now.

Cheers!
