Modern events calendar and URL structure

I am using MEC and have noticed that the URL structure is: website.com/blog/events/event-name

My permalink structure is set to /blog/postname/ so that posts go under the blog heading but I hadn’t realised that calendar events would become posts too. Is there a way to separate things out so blog posts keep /blog/ but events have /events/event-name as the URL structure? Thanks

Thanks for writing in! Since you have set your permalink as /blog/%postname% try adding htaccess rules to re-write specific URLs that you need.
